CONCEPT:
the exhibition modern05 presents works of international artists at the Munich Residenz, including e.g. David Salle (New York) with his latest works, Julia Mangold (Munich), Frank Gerritz (Hamburg), Winston Roeth (New York), Greg Bogin (New York) and Michael Sailstorfer (Munich).
modern05 acts in cooperation with galleries Jeffrey Deitch (New York) and Leo Koenig (New York).
modern05 is also supported by Gallery Kenny Schachter, Rove (London), Gallery von Bartha (London) and Galleria Cardi (Milan). Galerie Nusser & Baumgart completes the show with important positions of young artists from Munich, among them Michael Sailstorfer. The artists and galleries are attracted by the unique historical framework of the Residenz, the ideal stage for dialogue with contemporary art.
modern05 is synonymous with „Contemporary Tendencies“. Its curator is Isabella Goebel.
modern05, a platform for contemporary art invites you to innovative art projects in Munich. David Salle (New York) created a large-sized work for this exhibition which will be presented for the first time. The exhibits are for sale.
Kindly supported by UBS and BMW a spectacular social program is accompanying the exhibition: various receptions, a gala dinner and a young collectors night along with private guided tours and conversations with the artists.
Parallel to modern05 Munich is enriched with the opening of the 50th Art Fair Munich (8 to 16 October) as well as the opening of Munich Highlights, an initiative of Munich galleries.
